Learn how to properly extract major (and minor) teeth using tried-and-true techniques under the guidance of a veterinary dental specialist. You will review and practice the steps to perform quadrant extractions with emphasis on:
- Regional nerve blocks
- Preoperative and postoperative radiographs
- Flap presentation
- Adequate bone removal to facilitate extraction
- Complete tooth removal
- Tension-free surgical closure
Extraction challenges such as root tip retrieval, complications such as iatrogenic mandibular fracture, and when to perform crown amputations will also be discussed. Dental radiography will be used to confirm complete surgical extractions.

Clinical Techniques Course registration is nontransferable. CVC reserves the right to cancel any Clinical Techniques Course by November 1, 2017. If the course is canceled by CVC, registrants will be notified and the Clinical Techniques Course paid fee will be credited or refunded. All cancellations of a Clinical Techniques Course by the registrant must be submitted in writing for a credit or refund, minus a $50 processing fee, by November 1, 2017.
