United States Public Health Service Sessions

For the sixth consecutive year, CVC is pleased to offer a public health track that is coordinated with the assistance of the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) veterinarians.  Previous speakers include veterinarians with a wide variety of backgrounds (active duty and reserve USPHS officers, U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, federal agencies and academia).  Prior topics include deployment and disaster medicine, food safety, zoonotic disease, and the diverse roles, responsibilities, and opportunities for veterinarians in public health.  Be sure to check out the final program for this year’s slate of presentations.

The National Veterinary Accreditation Program: Supplemental Training

The USDA National Veterinary Accreditation Program (NVAP) has been updated to help meet the demands of a global market and emerging disease threats. This enhanced program helps strengthen accredited veterinarians’ understanding of their critical roles in the surv eillance of foreign and emerging animal diseases as well as increase their knowledge on current animal health issues. Veterinarians will need to pursue APHIS-approved supplemental training to renew their accreditation every three years.  With this goal in mind, APHIS-approved supplemental training is being offered at
CVC Washington D.C.  Be sure to check the final program for the complete list of presentation topics.
