Tried-and-true solutions for everyday management problems

Managers play a lynchpin role in veterinary practices... developing a team, supporting other leaders, building the business, and problem solving on the fly. The Veterinary Economics' Managers' retreat is your opportunity to fall back from the front lines for a day and develop strategies to help you address the challenges more effectively going forward.

Manager Brian Conrad, CVPM, will lead the full-day program and brings his in-the-trenches-there-with-you experience as the manager of a busy, successful veterinary hospital. Past attendees of the program say getting ideas and feedback from other managers was one of the most valuable elements of the day, so you and your colleagues will also get opportunities to share both your challenges and your solutions.

During this interactive series of sessions, Conrad will talk about how to identify the strengths and weaknesses of your team, how to clarify responsibilities and develop a stronger team, and how to create an environment in which employees are open to frequent change.

"I feel as if I have a better understanding of my job responsibilities as a manager," said one attendee as she left the last session of this program in Baltimore. And the comments from others make it clear that managers attending shared her sentiments. In fact, they list these elements of the sessions as being some of the most valuable part of the experience:
> Ideas and feedback from other managers
> Advice about how to handle everyday problems
> Clear guidelines for managers' responsibilities
> Suggestions on how to align everyone's expectations about the managers' job
(Plus they appreciated having lots of good coffee available.)
