Conducted by Dr. Steven Martinez
External skeletal fixators (ESFs) provide the benefits of minimally invasive surgery that may include shorter operating time, minimal morbidity, earlier recovery, more rapid bone healing, and fewer complications for long bone fracture repair. Attend this one-day course to expand your treatment options by learning this technically less demanding procedure. In the morning, you will review pertinent anatomy and learn about external fixation principles and techniques. In the afternoon, under the guidance of an expert, you will put those principles into practice by creating ESF models of select linear configurations and then applying them to sawbone models of fractures.
