Continuing Education Credits

The 2014 CVC San Diego program has been submitted (but not yet approved) for a maximum of 55 hours of credit for veterinarians in full attendance and 35 hours of credit for technicians over four days in jurisdictions that recognize AAVSB’s RACE approval. General four-day attendance earns veterinarians 32 hours of CE and technicians 32 hours of CE without purchasing any Clinical Techniques Courses or Ask the Expert Luncheons. Each state’s licensing board will consider the program; check with your state’s board for the number of hours it approves. Some boards have limitations on the number of hours accepted in certain categories and/or restrictions on certain methods of delivery of continuing education. To record your CE hours, certificates of attendance will be included in your registration packet. The practice management courses on p. 8 and 9 are applicable toward the continuing education requirement for the Certified Veterinary Practice Manager program offered by the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association.

Texas Veterinarians: Track Your CE!

Veterinarians licensed in Texas must track each seminar hour attended with a CE Checklist. When you arrive, pick up the checklist at the Tour/Information Desk and sign in on the sheet provided. Before you leave CVC San Diego, return your completed checklist to the Onsite Registration Desk and sign out on the sheet provided. A CVC staff member will verify your hours and give you a signed CE Certificate of Attendance. Don’t leave without your certificate — we can’t mail it to you! For more information, call us at (800) 255-6864, ext. 6.

Badges

All registered attendees and guests must wear a badge at all times. Attendees will not be admitted to lectures or the Exhibit Hall without a badge. An Exhibit Hall-only badge will be issued to a registered attendee’s guest if requested and applicable, but seminar attendance is for paid registrants only, not guests. Badges will not be mailed; you can pick them up onsite at the Registration Desk. For a $45 fee, Exhibit Hall-only badges are available onsite for veterinarians, technicians, practice managers, and team members who are affiliated with a practice and/or not working for an industry company. Exhibit Hall-only badges do not receive access to seminar rooms.

Guests

Guests (e.g., spouses, significant others, children) are defined as people not working in the veterinary industry. All veterinarians, technicians, practice managers, and team members must register and pay registration fees. Guests receive complimentary Exhibit Hall-only badges when included on the registration form in advance. Guests, including children, do not receive access to the seminar rooms. On-site guest badges are $5. Children ages 10 to 18 receive free badges (list their names on the registration form); those under 10 do not require badges.

Proceedings

Paid veterinarians, technicians, practice managers, students, and spouses attending seminars receive a 2014 CVC San Diego proceedings CD-ROM or downloadable proceedings (available a week prior to the convention). Indicate your preferred format on the registration form. New in 2014! A proceedings book is available by advance purchase for only $60. A limited number of additional CD-ROMs and downloadable proceedings will be sold for $75 each at the Onsite Registration Desk.

Audio Recordings

With such a wide variety of great lectures, it’s difficult to attend every session. Thanks to CVC San Diego MP3s, you can listen in on the lectures you couldn’t attend or hear your favorite sessions again. Order lecture MP3s at the Convention Center — just look for the signs. Or pre-order your copy on p. 49 of the registration form.

Room Moderators

We are recruiting professional and reliable volunteers to serve as room moderators during CVC San Diego. For more information, please contact The CVC Group at (800) 255-6864, ext. 6. Spaces are limited and fill up quickly.

Registration Packets

Registration packets will be distributed onsite. Please pick yours up at the Registration Desk in Ballroom 6 Lobby at the San Diego Convention Center (SDCC) during the hours listed on p. 41.

Changes, Cancellations, and Refunds

To receive a full refund, minus a $50 processing fee, your registration cancellation must be made in writing, by fax or mail, postmarked by October 29, 2014. No refunds will be issued for convention or special program registration, tours, child care, or Clinical Techniques Courses after October 29, 2014. You will not receive a refund if you do not cancel your attendance by October 29 or do not attend the convention after registering (a no-show). A $50 processing fee will be charged for registration changes that affect name badges and CE forms.

Lunch Vouchers

All attendees will receive CVC lunch bucks for each day they are registered (Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday). Please use these lunch bucks as cash to purchase lunch and snacks at the concession stands in the Exhibit Hall from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM on Friday and Saturday, and 10:30 AM - 2:00 PM on Sunday. Guests will not receive lunch bucks.

Messages

A message board will be located in the Registration Lobby of the San Diego Convention Center (SDCC). Individuals cannot be paged, so please check the message board daily. An emergency phone number will be included in the final program, available onsite.
