The National Veterinary Accreditation Program: Supplemental Training

Saturday, April 28
8 am- 6 pm

The National Veterinary Accreditation Program (NVAP) has been updated to help meet the demands of a global market and emerging disease threats. This enhanced program helps strengthen accredited veterinarians’ understanding of their critical roles in the surveillance of foreign and emerging animal diseases as well as increase their knowledge on current animal health issues.

Veterinarians will need to pursue APHIS-approved supplemental training to renew their accreditation every three years. With this goal in mind, two hours of APHIS-approved supplemental training will be offered at CVC Washington, D.C. by attending one of the following sessions:

Module 1: Introduction to the new National Veterinary Accreditation Program
Module 2: Role of agencies (state, federal, international) and health certificates
Module 3: Foreign animal diseases, program diseases, and reportable diseases
Module 4: Preventing disease introduction and spread
Module 5: Vesicular diseases
Module 6: Exotic avian diseases
Module 7: Foreign animal disease detection in Category 1 animals
Module 19: Animal health emergency response
